It may be rubber but it is not a toy and not even gum candy. The Nixon Rubber Player 4X4 watch may be a yummy piece of gadget but it is a functional gadget, which just happens to look like a candy.

The Nixon Rubber Player 4X4 watch is playful interpretation of the Rubber Player, which is one of the all-time bestsellers from the brand. And this time around, you will have not one, but four Rubber Players, in different colors of Blue, Purple, Red and Green.

Beginning last March 15, 2009, each of the participating shops were shipped only four Nixon Rubber Player 4X4 per month. The colors of the releases were kept as a surprise until D-Day, but the first one to be revealed was the blue player. The watch will set you back by $170, cheap as rubber really.

The whole scheme is no longer surprising considering that Nikon is known for its youthful exuberance. The watch comes in custom-molded silicone case with matching band, plus a single diamond at 6 o’clock. It has a three-hand Japanese quartz movement and the big Nikon signature logo on the face at 12 o’clock position.
