The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry is IWC’s fourth and final tribute to Antoine de saint Exupery, French pilot and poet who is still being read worldwide up to today through his short story “The Little Prince”. However, he has also written other adventure books like the Night Flight as well as Wind, Sand and Stars before he went missing on a reconnaissance flight in 1944.
This watch is characterized by a tobacco brown dial with a Pellaton winding mechanism. It has a date display, central hacking seconds hand and a seven-day power reserve equivalent to 168 hours.
Only 1,900 of this watch have been produced making it a limited edition watch with a special case-back engraving. Of this total number, 1,149 are in stainless steel, 500 watches in 18k rose gold and 250 watches in 18k white gold. There is one watch in platinum and is up for auction.
The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry has an antireflective sapphire glass and a screw-in onion crown. This is considered the best among the other editions. And if you’re not keen on squinting when looking at your watch then you will appreciate the big numbers on the dial.
