This watch is a set of attractive watches made to commemorate the Olympic Games which were held in Beijing, China in 2008. The watch collection is actually not a tribute to the Games, but to the city itself.
The Ernst Benz Beijing 2008 Limited Edition Chronoscope Watch shows that black and red are very attractive colors that can stand out from the crowd even when used alone or in combination. But colors aside, the interesting thing about this watch are the Chinese numerals which you see on the face.
And even if you can’t read Chinese, you can however decipher their meaning based on where they are located in the dial. For as long as you have mastered telling the time sans numerals, then it would be fairly easy to tell the time using the Chinese characters. While all the Chinese numeral characters are colored uniformly, you will find that the number “8” comes in a different color from the rest. Not a surprise since the Chinese culture consider “8” a lucky number.
The Ernst Benz Beijing 2008 Limited Edition Chronoscope Watch is powered by an automatic Valjoux 7750. The watch case is wide enough at 47mm, but we do hope the Asians are ready to wear large watches on their wrists.
